Storytelling summer sessions and why it is a MUST this year!
Okay, real talk—
Summer is a lot. The kids are home, the schedule’s out the window, and suddenly you’re expected to be entertainment director, snack provider, lifeguard, and referee. Every day. For weeks.
I get it. The heat alone in Arizona is enough to melt your willpower (and your popsicles). But you also don’t want the summer to just… disappear in a blur of sunscreen and screen time, right?
That’s where storytelling summer sessions come in. These aren’t your typical stand-here-and-smile photos. They’re more like a planned playdate—but the kind you’ll want to remember forever.

Think about what your kids are obsessed with right now. Maybe it’s the pool. Or popsicles. Or dressing up like a fairy ninja pirate (it’s a thing). Whatever it is, we build your session around that—something they already love. The result? Candid, joy-filled moments that actually feel like your family.
You don’t have to force smiles. You don’t have to dress everyone in stiff matching outfits (unless you want to—we can still make that cute). And best of all, you don’t have to stress. I’ll guide the whole thing. You just get to be in it.
Let’s talk ideas, because there are so many ways to stay cool and make magic this summer:
- Poolside hangs with dripping popsicles and floaties galore
- A little lake escape with boat rides and sandy toes
- Ice cream shop adventures where yes, they absolutely get 3 scoops
- Skate park action shots for your fearless little daredevil
- A game night at home with matching PJs and way too many Uno rematches
- Camping just outside the city—dirt, marshmallows, flashlights, yes please
- Backyard movie night with popcorn, blankets, and that warm glow of string lights
- Dress-up days at home that turn into snack time and giggle fits
And honestly? We can dream up whatever fits your family’s vibe. It just has to feel like you.

Here’s the only thing I ask of you during a storytelling session:
Be present.
Play.
Let go.
When you lean in fully, your kids feel it. They see that you’re not just watching them make memories—you’re in them. And when that happens, I get to capture something so real and beautiful it’ll stop you in your tracks.
And I know—it can feel hard to be photographed when you’re tired or touched out or just not in the mood. But your kids don’t care about any of that. They care that you were there. In the photo. In the moment. Laughing, cuddling, being with them.
That’s what storytelling summer sessions are all about.

So if you’re already trying to figure out what to do with your kids this summer, let’s make at least one day extra special. I’ll help you plan it. I’ll make it easy. And when it’s all said and done, you’ll have a gallery full of memories that feel just as good as they look.
I only take on a limited number of these each summer—because, well, I like to have my own popsicle moments too. 😉
If you’re thinking yes, please, hit THIS LINK and let’s start planning a session that your kids will be talking about for years.
(And hey—bonus: no sunscreen reapplications required.)
